One of these belongs in a Jaguar XJS that has had the hood lengthened by several feet - change my mind.

its leaking oil out the valve cover., it checks out,.

Change your mind? Why would I go and try do a stupid thing like that?

Some engine swaps don’t require lengthening the hood as much as cutting an aperture in it .

It’s a two stroke so it’s like getting two engines for the price of one, as well as two engines’ worth of cold sweat nightmares to anyone in the EPA.

While this is true, this would be cutting an aperture in not only the hood, but also the front clip. So....

This but XJS is highly encouraged.

Picture it - all the flowing penis-styling of a Jag now with more penis and more two-stroke diesel. And still a V12.
Where I fear I’m *actually* going astray is thinking about ways to make a 10,000 GAWR version of the Jag independent rear suspension.

Correct.

Detroits leaked out of everywhere.

See, it would be nice if it could be done in such a way as to look *subtly* wrong.

you’d be something of a minor legend if you managed to find one of the relatively few 12V-53s out there. the -53 series can scream in ways the bigger ones only dream of.

A guy says there were 15 documented to be made... ever, so that’s probably out of reach. Would be nearly ideal, though.

The skid plates are structural and designed to be field replaceable.

As long as the standard bonnet is , that wouldn’t be too hard. Or overtly wrong could be good too, like this with more schnoz and a Pro-Stock hood .. .
On that thought, hmm...Jaguar... dragster... Jag, Drag... DRAGUAR AND OH LOOK WHAT I FOUND

This thing is wonderful.

longcar is long. Similarly, peniscar is penis.

I want to put one of these in a car so I can burble a round town and drop panties

Oh yeah, that’s right- It’s the 8V-53 which is relatively rare; the 12V is a unicorn.

But the 12V-71 is common. Go big, right?

When you go to pick up your car with the straight 12 that's finally assembled.
I ’m sorry. We couldn’t get the car timed for the engine to run smoothly at all rpms. I think the cams and crank might be twisting a bit.

well, for stationary and industrial use, at least. It was offered in some OTR trucks but pretty rare. IIRC the 12V-53 wasn’t really needed; you might as well just use an 8V-71 or -92 and get comparable power in a more compact package.

yep, crankshaft torsion would be a killer. might even be fracture prone.
